Rylee and I spent several hours in the studio together and she painted this from start to finish. She just turned 5yo this month!!!! She copied a painting from Carol Marine’s book of 100 small paintings (http://carolmarine.blogspot.com)

Done from a small sketch of some girl I drew at a restaurant the other day.

14″ x 17″ – Charcoal
Start with a smeared charcoal base, then pulled out the lights with a kneaded eraser.
9″x12″ – Oils
This was a plein air painting done in an hour + at Aldrige Gardens in Hoover, Al. Ran out of light too fast and got creative with it.
I’ve been wiring patchbays for 24 hours, but I’m finally getting close to having the new studio setup. The new setup is the best of both worlds with analog and digital recording capabilities. And now I’ve got rack mounted autotune, I can do an awesome Lil Wayne impression!
The giveaway went great and I have already received calls to order custom guitars. I also picked up a couple of the artists as customers. All in all it was a great day for business.
Running sound for the day was successful, but extremely stressful. We had to overcome several technical issues but managed to keep them mostly hidden from the crowd. We got a lot of praise for how the event sounded, but I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to the amazing stage crew. They deserve as much if not more credit than us.
There was a crowd in the thousands and plans for next year are already underway. I can’t wait. It came and went too fast this time around, but the next one will be even bigger and better!
